This week we have still been focusing on counting tens and ones, using concrete materials (deines) and picture clues. Some children really understand this and some are still finding it difficult. Below I have attached a worksheet that can be shared with your child.

At home, maybe you could practise work on numbers to 100. Say a number and get your child to write it or write 2 numbers down up to 100 and get your child to circle the greatest (biggest).

Most children have had the chance to access TTRockstars in school this week. Time in class will be allocated each week so that children can practise their times tables. When you log on to TTRockstars, there are several options to choose from but two main ones. The garage option will give you just 10 times tables, including multiplication facts and linked division facts as this is what we are working on in class at the moment. The studio option will give your child multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12. In year 2, we focus on learning the 2, 5 and 10 times tables but for now I am challenging the children to know their 10 times tables securely before moving on.

At home you could get your child to recite the 10 times tables and also write down the answers to number sentences, such as

1 x 10 = ? 2 x 10 =?
