READING
We have had lots of opportunities this week to read and answer questions about what we have read. There are some resources below that some children have used this week if you would like to see what we have been doing. The texts attached are to challenge the children to read as many words as they can in 60 seconds. Time your child while they read and see how they do.
WRITING
This week we have started a new English journey. We haven't read much of the book yet as we read it in stages but the children know that the story is called 'The way back home' by Oliver Jeffers. The children had some fabulous predictions about what the story might be about. We played hide and reveal with the front cover and when the children could only see 2 hands together and 1 pair were green, someone said that it might be the Grinch holding hands with someone! The children were really using their prior knowledge and information given to them to help with their predictions. We are already looking forward to seeing what the rest of the book is about.
PHONICS
This week we have split up into 3 different phonics groups. Each group has a different starting point for their phonics lessons and it is working really well so far.
